La leyenda de la Piedra Media Libra, en Herrán

En la vereda El Llano, de Herrán, se teje la mítica historia de la piedra Media Libra.

Se trata de una inmensa roca que se ubica a 10 minutos del casco urbano del pueblo.  

Dice la historia que una vez el diablo al pasar por este sector se encontró con esta inmensa mole de piedra, la cual interrumpía su paso. 

Al ver que se veía truncado su camino, decidió darle un puntapie a la enorme roca, la cual la partió en dos, quedando las dos mitades a lado y lado de la quebrada.

Los Viernes Santos, justo a la hora en que Jesucristo murió, se abre la piedra y muestra un encanto ante los ojos de los asombrados viajeros quienes observan un templo de colores luminosos donde se guarda un tesoro, dándole un aspecto de templo indígena. Se dice que la forma de sacar la custodia, es entrar el Viernes Santo en punto de la tres de la tarde, hora en que la piedra se abre. 

Pero quien la tome debe correr velozmente hasta alcanzar el extremo antes que la piedra vuelva a cerrarse, de lo contrario quien ose entrar y no haga lo indicado permanecerá prisionero de la piedra hasta el siguiente viernes Santo, fecha en la que ocurrirá nuevamente la fabulosa visión.

On the El Llano sidewalk, in Herrán, the mythical history of the Half Pound stone is born.

It is a huge rock located 10 minutes from the town. 

The story says that once the devil passed through this sector, he found this huge mass of stone, which interrupted its passage.

Seeing that his path was cut off, he decided to kick the huge rock, and split it in two, leaving the two halves by the left and right side of the brook. 

On Holy Fridays, just at the time of Jesus Christ’s death, the stone opens and shows a charm in the eyes of the astonished travelers who observe a temple of luminous colors where a treasure is kept, giving it the appearance of an indigenous temple. It is said that the way to get the treasure, is to enter on Holy Fridays at three o'clock in the afternoon, when the stone opens.

But whoever takes it must run swiftly until reaching the other side before the stone closes again, otherwise whoever dares to enter and does not do so, will remain prisoner of the stone until the following Holy Friday, date on which the fabulous vision will occur again.
